Questão 1: identificando a linguagem corporal
Voices drift from boats tied to the riverbank where a floating library invites residents to explore multiple modes of expression. Visitors see graphic posters illustrating local legends on dock walls, watch animated motion installations projecting dancers onto water surfaces, listen to portable digital audio stations playing oral histories, interact with text panels that require tracing letters in sand, and encounter scent-infused sculptures releasing regional aromas.
Identify the example of corporal language in the floating library program.
?Could the walls of the city speak for themselves? Throughout the past century, urban murals have evolved from clandestine tags to monumental artworks that dot neighborhoods worldwide. Initially dismissed as mere vandalism, these large-scale paintings now serve as communal canvases. Artists draw upon local legends, historical events, and collective aspirations to create images that resonate with residents. In many cities, mural festivals commission works that celebrate indigenous heritage, commemorate social movements, and foster dialogue among diverse groups. By transforming blank facades into vivid storytelling platforms, murals become living archives of a community’s journey through time, reflecting its struggles, triumphs, and evolving identity.
Analise the text and identify which function of urban murals the author highlights as shaping community identity?
- ❌ D) Expressing political dissent through visual art — movimentos sociais aparecem, mas a ideia central é a história coletiva.
What happens when voices and images unite to tell a community’s story? In the Horizon Festival, local artists and activists collaborate each year to showcase cultural heritage through multiple expressive forms. Attendees witness mural painters sketching symbols of ancestral legends, dancers improvising folk steps, and poets delivering spoken word narratives on portable stages. Interpreters use hand gestures to bridge sign language with ambient music, while calligraphers display bold phrases along the walls. This collective practice fosters dialogue about identity and social issues, demonstrating how verbal, visual, and corporal languages can merge into a unified cultural expression.
Based on the text, propose an analogous initiative that combines verbal and artistic languages to address a contemporary urban challenge.
- ❌ A) Publishing a social media text thread presenting facts about traffic delays without images or artistic elements — é só verbal, sem a dimensão artística pedida.
- ✅ B) Organizing a street theater performance that incorporates sign language and rap lyrics to raise awareness about air pollution in urban neighborhoods — correta, pois une linguagens verbal e artística para tratar de um problema urbano.
- ❌ C) Hosting a poetry slam where participants recite environmental statistics in public squares without visual or performative support — é verbal pura, sem elementos artísticos integrados.
- ❌ D) Designing a mural with abstract shapes and colors to symbolize community history without any written or spoken elements — falta a dimensão verbal exigida.
- ❌ E) Arranging a silent dance flash mob in subway stations to represent traffic congestion through movement alone — usa só a linguagem corporal, sem a verbal.
Questão 4: estratégia de exibição respeitosa
“An English title can welcome visitors, but it must not replace the name we use,” said the artist at a community arts centre in western Ireland. The centre’s new participatory textile piece is called Meitheal. During weekly sessions, residents stitch patches; some include Irish, English, Polish, or no written words. On an audio track, participants describe a family memory or simply name colours. The curator’s draft labels the work “Community Craft Project.” In her notes, the artist explains that meitheal refers to collective work, carries memories of rural cooperation, and is also used by participants to describe mutual support in the city today. She asks the curator to make the English explanation accessible without treating any single language or form of expression as the complete meaning of the work.
Analyze the artist’s notes and identify the display strategy that best respects the cultural and changing meanings expressed in the work.
- ❌ A) Keeping Meitheal as the title and defining it as the exact equivalent of community craft project — reduz um termo cultural a uma tradução única e incompleta.
- ❌ B) Displaying Meitheal without any English explanation to avoid changing its meaning — ignora o pedido de acessibilidade e o papel mediador do inglês.
- ❌ C) Replacing Meitheal with an English title while adding it as a secondary subtitle — torna o inglês principal e enfraquece a escolha da comunidade.
- ❌ D) Keeping Meitheal as the title and presenting it solely as a rural tradition of the past — ignora os usos urbanos contemporâneos do termo.
- ✅ E) Keeping Meitheal as the title and explaining its rural and urban meanings in accessible English — correta, pois preserva o termo e usa o inglês como mediação, considerando sentidos históricos e atuais.
Questão 5: linguagem corporal e memória cultural
How can a city remember its past without museums? A spontaneous flash mob unfolded in a central plaza to answer that question. Performers wove together movement, speech, music, and visuals. A group of dancers formed a tight circle, stepping in synchronized patterns that alluded to traditional folk ceremonies. Nearby, an actor delivered a monologue about the rise of local industries, his voice echoing off nearby walls. Projected archival photographs flickered across the facade of an old warehouse. A musician sounded a trumpet solo, its notes rising above the gathered crowd. Spectators filmed the scene with their smartphones, sharing glimpses of the event online.
Considere the flash mob described in the text. Identify which element exemplifies corporal language conveying cultural memory?
- ✅ A) The dancers forming a circle to evoke unity among participants — correta, pois os movimentos corporais remetem a cerimônias tradicionais e à memória cultural.
- ❌ B) The musician playing a trumpet solo in the central plaza — a música é arte sonora, não corporal.
- ❌ C) The projection of archival photographs onto the building facade — a projeção é linguagem visual.
- ❌ D) The audience capturing the event on their phones for social media — filmar é uma ação tecnológica, não expressão corporal.
- ❌ E) The actor reciting lines about industrialization in a loud voice — recitar é linguagem verbal.
Questão 6: acessibilidade na linguagem de sinais
Bright stage lights reveal two performers moving in unison on a small wooden platform. One recites a monologue in clear spoken English, while the other mirrors each phrase in American Sign Language. Their expressions are synchronized: a furrowed brow echoes a questioning tone, a gentle smile accompanies a hopeful line. The audience watches silently as the scene unfolds, eyes alternating between lips and hands. The choreographer’s notes explain that this dual-language performance emerged from a collaboration between Deaf and hearing artists aiming to challenge traditional theater conventions. Rehearsals focused on matching rhythm and emotion across verbal and visual channels, demonstrating that language extends beyond sound and embraces gesture, facial nuance, and shared cultural experience.
Analyze the scene description and identify the effect of integrating sign language with spoken dialogue in the performance.
- ❌ A) To create a visual spectacle independent of narrative content — o objetivo é a comunicação e a inclusão, não só o espetáculo.
- ❌ B) To slow the pace of the monologue for dramatic effect — os ensaios focaram no ritmo compartilhado, não em desacelerar a fala.
- ❌ C) To contrast moments of silence with spoken text for tension — as duas modalidades ocorrem simultaneamente, não em contraste com o silêncio.
- ❌ D) To teach the audience basic vocabulary in sign language — o foco é inclusão cultural, não ensino de vocabulário.
- ✅ E) To ensure equal access for Deaf and hearing audience members — correta, pois a integração das duas modalidades garante acesso igualitário aos dois públicos.
